AFCON 2027 organisers say a new digital ticketing portal will make it very hard for anyone to buy more than two tickets, to stop touts buying in bulk and reselling at higher prices. Ticket sale dates, prices and the official website have not yet been announced. Until they are, any website or social media account selling AFCON 2027 tickets is not official.
Fans hoping to watch AFCON 2027 in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda will face strict limits on how many tickets they can buy. Speaking to Kenyan media this week, Local Organising Committee chairman Nicholas Musonye said the new ticketing system is designed to stop touts.
“It will be very difficult for you to buy more than two tickets,” Musonye said, according to Pulse Kenya. He explained that each buyer is expected to purchase for themselves and one family member, such as a spouse or a child.
Why the limit?
The plan follows ticketing problems at the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN), which Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda co-hosted. Portals crashed under heavy traffic, and brokers bought tickets in bulk. “People were purchasing even 100 tickets,” Musonye said, describing resellers buying cheap tickets and selling them on for several times the price. “We will not allow that to happen.”
What the new portal will do
According to the report, the system is planned to include:
- A purchase limit: in practice, two tickets per buyer.
- Identity checks: verified buyer details linked to each purchase.
- Multi-factor authentication to block bots and fake accounts.
- Restricted payment methods to make bulk buying and resale harder.
The official name of the platform and the website address have not been announced. CAF has also put out a public tender for an end-to-end AFCON 2027 ticketing service, which shows the system is still being set up.
What this means for fans
- Groups and families: if you’re travelling with more than one other person, each adult will probably need to buy their own tickets with their own account.
- Fans abroad: people travelling from the UK, the USA and elsewhere should expect identity checks when buying. Keep your passport details ready.
- Ticket as visa: CAF’s PAMOJA plan links match tickets to entry to the three host countries, so having a ticket in your own name matters even more. Read our ticket-as-visa guide.
How to avoid AFCON 2027 ticket scams
- No official tickets are on sale yet. Anyone selling AFCON 2027 tickets today is not an official seller.
- Buy only through channels announced by CAF or the official Local Organising Committees.
- Never pay through WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook or TikTok sellers, or by direct mobile money transfer to a private number.
- Be careful with resale sites that advertise AFCON 2027 tickets before official sales open. A ticket in someone else’s name may not be valid with ID checks.
What we still don’t know
- When tickets go on sale
- Ticket prices for each category and match
- The name and website of the official portal
- Whether the two-ticket limit applies per match or across the whole tournament
AFCON 2027 runs from 19 June to 17 July 2027 across Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda, with 24 teams. For everything confirmed so far, see our AFCON 2027 tickets guide, ticket prices and how to buy tickets pages.

No. Sale dates, prices and the official ticketing website have not been announced. Any seller offering AFCON 2027 tickets now is not official.
